In a Kashmiri wedding, the bride’s trousseau is sent a couple of days before the actual wedding. There is a chance that your trousseau will not be available to you immediately once you reach your new home. So having a thoughtfully packed bag for the baraat night and walima day can make all the difference. Make sure to take this bag along with you at rukhsati time.

This bag (let’s call it The Walima day bag aka Rukhsati bag or you can even call it by the address of your new home like – sanatnagar bag, eidgah bag, etc) will ensure you feel comfortable, organized, and at ease as you begin your journey.

An even better approach is to keep 2 separate bags:

  1. Home bag (Maika + Sasural bag): It will have things that you need at your Maika as well as Sasural.
  2. Walima day bag (Sasural bag): This bag will have things that you need at your new home only.
