Tell us about yourself and your team members

My name is Sajjad Shah. I am basically from Kashmir but from the past 20 years, I am working in Mumbai/Delhi in Film & Television as a cinematographer. I have done almost 15 Bollywood/Hollywood movies as Steadicam Operator and also I am Director of Photography of India’s Most Watched crime based serial Savdhaan India.

I was with Zee Tele Films for 5 years as a senior camera person and for 10 years I was a full-time employee with Times Now News Channel as Senior Cameraperson. I am also camera person in MTV’s most-watched show Roadies, Splitsvilla. Recently, I have shot television commercial for Red Tape Shoes.

Our company’s name is Lens King Media Guide Pvt Ltd & MG’s Wedding Cinematography is the sister company. For Kashmir, I have a dedicated team for filming weddings. All my team members are also from film & television. So our concept is totally different for making wedding films in the valley.

What services do you offer and minimum charges

We offer cinematic concept wedding films, cinematic traditional wedding films, candid photography, pre-wedding in Kashmir, lip-dub, drone cinematography, mantra photo-book, photo-book designing. Our charges start from INR 25000.

What equipment do you use

We use full cinematic equipment like red camera, DSLR camera, c-300 camera, black magic camera, sliders, drone, Steadicam, crane, etc.

What do you like about your job

Mostly I like the camera part but overall I like pre-production.

What’s your favorite moment from the wedding that you like to capture

When brides offer Nimaz & recite Quran and also Nikah.

What annoys you the most while capturing pictures in weddings

When people spoil our frame with their smartphone photography/videography. 

You are part of every wedding closely, what needs to be changed in Kashmiri weddings

The only thing needs to be changed is that people ignore photography and cinematography. People here spend lots of money on wazwan & decoration, but that’s only for 2 or 3 days. Wedding films & photos are the only things that will preserve all the efforts that you put in your weddings….so please don’t ignore it.

My all-time favorite photographers are Mr. Rohit Singh & Barlina Khan (Both of them are my team members).
